Connection dropping out
Switched to Telstra when I moved house 6 weeks ago. My internet connection keeps dropping out or switching to the Telstra mobile network. I have a Telstra smart modem gen 2. The connection drops out a couple of times a day and every week or so switches itself to the Mobile network and I get an sms from Telstra advising of this. Last night when on the mobile network it drops out every 10 minutes. Does anyone have any idea if this is standard with Telstra services? Also if the phone rings when connected to the network it disconnects the internet which reminds me of old dial up services. Telstra installation instructions said we don't need a splitter but do we actually need one?

Re: Connection dropping out
If you are on ADSL, then you need a splitter. On NBN, you don't need one.
