Devices unable to connect to 2.4ghz Wi-Fi

I have been connected to FTTN NBN for several weeks without any problems.  I have the Telstra Gateway Max modem.  All the lights are green, except for WPS and DECT, these are off.


For the last few days, my wireless devices have not been able to connect to the 2.4ghz Wi-Fi.  (TIVO, Chromecast, TV,  laptops, Webcams, Amplifier, DVD).  Devices which can use the 5ghz Wi-Fi all connect, work fine and connect to the internet.

I have rebooted the modem several times, without success.

I can connect to the Gateway Max web interface at  (I am on the 5G Wi-Fi).  Everything on the dashboard shows as working. All settings are as I would expect them to be, most are factory default -  I changed the default SSIDs and password )


What could have changed that would prevent all my devices from connecting to the 2.4ghz Wi-Fi? 


I have just been to a mate's place tonight.  He has the same set-up and exactly the same problem.  None of his 2.4ghz wireless devices connect either.  He thought his NBN was down, but I showed him that we can connect to his 5G network and access the internet.


Any advice will be appreciated.

MHO is that your modemis on its way out......



it sounds similar to what happened to our t799 modem during the so called network outages a few months back....


except we lost both 2.4 and 5ghz then within 12hrs we lost the ethernet conection as well...



why do i say so called "network outages" this is because after going and picking up a Netgear 2600 (i think that the model i would have to out to the sons cabin to check) we plugged it in put in the username and password for the internet and we were pumping away at 3.5mb/s on 2-3 computers (this is while the so callled National outages were happening)


if your running an NBN connection though, you may not be able to just go up and replace the modem from i have been reading recently in the forums.
