Do I have to have NBN?

Answered

I have a Telstra broadband cable connection and it gives me a 5G connection and download speeds in excess of 100mbs. If I get NBN broadband I will have to pay an extra $30 for a lesser

speed. Will Telstra still support the current connection?

Also will I be able to use my current landline number using a VOIP phone?

Many thanks.

Re: Do I have to have NBN?

18 Months after NBN first becomes available at your location you will transfer to move to NBN or lose your phone and internet service. After the 18 months the exiting phone and cable network will be disconnected.

You can keep your existing phone number with a NBN VOIP service.
