excessive download

Hi all,

My home internet broadband usage has gone crazy since I changed plans with Talstra. We have never reached our limit ever before.

We have upgraded from 50gb to 100gb a month and now we keep reaching the limit. Yet on the previous 50gb plan we never reached it

For example on 18th and 19th March we downloaded roughly 30gB each night!! And my computer wasn't even turned on both those nights. So it was my 9yo daughter watching YouTube videos for about 2 hours on a Samsung smart tv and my son doing similar on his mobile phone.

This scenario is nothing new, so why was the download through the roof?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: excessive download

If you have NBN, YouTube will play higher quality video content if you have a higher internet speed and thus will use more data.
I work for Telstra, but my opinions are my own and not that of Telstras

hi, try chnaging wifi password
While I am a Telstra employee, I am not an official Telstra representative on CrowdSupport. My opinions are my own, and do not necessarily represent that of Telstra.
