getting ports unblocked by Telstra
Hello
I am tyring to setup remote access to my CCTV DVR. I can get it to work on my own wifi connection at home but not on the 3G network away from home.
I have setup a static IP address and even bought a new modem/router (D-Link DSL-2870B) incase the Telstra one was too restricted. I have opened all the required ports on my end but still cannot access my cameras from outside my own network.
It seems Telstra blocks the ports somehow and the only answer I get from Telstra is "we can charge you $192 and get someone to sort it out for you". That is ridiculous for someone to change a few settings.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Cheers

Re: getting ports unblocked by Telstra
Hi Rolly4x4,
Telstra BigPond actually block the ports, and I would suggest contacting D-Link for assistance or using these links from portforward.com
Port Checker: http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm
Port Forwarding Guides: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dlink/default.htm
Note: porforward.com is a 3rd party site that is not affiliated with Telstra BigPond.
