HFC vs FTTB Speeds

I currently have a Telstra HFC connection measured download 111 Mbps and upload capped 5.2 Mbps. Our Apartment building now has FTTB activated. We have a NOKIA 7363 ISAM MX-6 installed which potentially supports Gfast. It would seem that unless Gfast is to be rolled out I will have a significant reduction in download speed if I switch to the NBN. At this stage would expect to stay with HFC until it is no longer supported (approx 12 months) and at that time hope that a 5G option becomes available in our area. Does anybody know whether Telstra has any intention of rolling out Gfast.  I understand they have had some test sites but news on these has gone very quiet.

Thanks for any relevant advice.

Stephen
