My parents live in the Adelaide foothills. They have tried a wireless set-up for their laptop with no success due to the area they are in. The only answer Telstra have given them is they need to connect through a sattelite. dish at a huge cost to be paid by them. They are pensioners and cannot afford to pay an incredible cost just to get the internet connected. What options do they have? HELP1

Re: home internet
I think we'd all agree the plans aren't great value (comparably). $105 a month for 500MB with excess usage charges and $1000+ installation fees.
If they aren't able to get NextG service with an external antenna, then sadly that would be their only real option (outside of attempting dial-up).
If you think I've been of assistance to you please remember to let me know by clicking on the LIKE button.
Please note: I am not a Telstra employee and any posts or opinions are entirely my own and don't reflect any official company position.
