How to increase maxium line speed
As the title says, how do I increase the maxium line speed? We have around 5 people on the internet at once generally.
Currently, the highest speed available is 26 down/10 up and that's with a premium speed boost.
If we don't pay for premium it becomes significantly worse. We had someone come to look at it a year or two back and it has something to do with the wiring I think?
Looking for any specifics if possible as i can't remember the details. What options would there be to improving this?
Cheers.

Re: How to increase maxium line speed
What sort of connect do you have? If its DSL (FTTN or FTTB) could you post the line status. The line status is located here on the Telstra modem's.
Telstra Gateway Max TG799 and Telstra Gateway Max II (TG800)
http://10.0.0.138 > advance > broadband > DSL stats
Telstra Gateway Frontier (DJN2130), Telstra Smart Modem (DJA0230) Telstra Smart Modem Gen2 (DJA0231)
http://192.168.0.1 > Advanced > Broadband > DSL stats Log in ID Gen 2 is admin/Telstra
Telstra Smart Modem Gen2 (LH1000)
http://192.168.0.1 > Broadband Log in ID Gen 2 is admin/Telstra (Only DSL RX rate and DSL TX rate available).
Telstra Gateway (Sagemcom F@st 5355)
http://10.0.0.138 > Advanced > Gateway Settings > Dev Info > General > xDSL (Near bottom of page) Password is admin
Images below show examples of line status.
DSL link 49 Mbps

Re: How to increase maxium line speed
Your line attenuation figures indicate your speed should be much higher so it looks like there is bridge tap on your line or some other fault causing the low speed.. The bridge tap could be in the house wiring or in the street cabling. If you have extra phone sockets in the house it could pay to have the house rewired and the extra phone sockets disconnected and a cable run directly from the incoming street cabling to the phone socket. If there is a bridge in the street cabling then that can only be fixed by NBN.
At the moment due to the fault on the link the speed boost is only increasing your upload speed. Without speed boost should still get about 25 Mbps down but only 5 Mbps up.
