How to mange NBN "Stuff"

Hello out there,I have just "been hocked" up to the NBN. All the stuff inside and out has been installed and all is OK.
My question is, when I leave my house, connection drops to 3G.
Now before I got hooked I had a Sierra Wireless Modem. I could use this, with limitations, on my travels to get 4g connection.
Is there any way that I can use my "sierra" modem to tap into my NBN connection??

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

G'day @ReneH and welcome to Crowdsupport.

The short answer is no.  Your WiFi router on your NBN is, well, basically that.

Now, as for you account, and using your usage, Telstra's new initiative of WiFi Nation

Will do what I think you want.

That is, in the future, you will be able to connect, and it will allow you to use the capacity you have paid for in your NBN account, regardless of your location.

Basically you connect to a "public" WiFi hotspot, and you can use your  normal data allowance instead of using your 3g allowance.

I hope that was what you were looking for.
