When you did the check, did you also use the Telstra/NBN tools to check what services were available at your street address?

Good morning,

You'll be off better with Telstra owned and operated  4GX  mobile broadband every day of the week.

NBN wireless has limits like mobile broadband

In addition, you didn't actually say what sort of fixed wireless you were after. I would plus 1 the suggestion from @ProfessorPhone to check out the options from Telstra for a 4G/4GX Mobile Broadband solution.

But be aware of data quota, and the ability of HD streaming to consume large amounts of data very quickly. I am not sure if any of the mobile broaband or fixed wireless solution offer 'unlimited' data, so check that out as well.

Steve, I'm on a plan and don't get charged nor slowed down for going well over the plan limit.

I believe Telstra want to keep all the inhouse mobile broadband customers they have, as mobile is all they have left to make a profit on.

@ProfessorPhone It will all depend on what the OP eventually signs up for won't it? I was just drawing their attention to what might happen long term..

Further to the above comments, you could check your Telstra mobile signal coverage on the webpage

You might be fortunate and have 5G coverage.

Re: I've done a desk check for getting fixed wireless nbn and i have line of site

With Telstra 4GX with a Nighthawk M2 modem, I get better constant speeds than a couple of friends with the current pre-milliWave 5G.     4GX is a much more polished and mature technology.

Speeds approaching 300mb/s is normal, just with 1 bar of poor quality signal.

I wonder if that would also be the situation for someone that is on one of the new Upfront Mobile Data Plans.
