If I move from NBN available area to non-NBN available area, can I void my contract with Telstra?

I'm currently half way through my NBN contract with Telstra. I am moving to a new premises that according to some in your organisation is not NBN ready (although your website says it is, and two Telstra employees have told me is - proving once again that Telstra is monumentally incompetent), can I void my current contract? It is not my fault that I am moving to an location that doesn't have the same services available and in my mind that should void my existing contract.

Is it Telstra's fault that you're moving to an area where they can't provide a service?

If there are no fixed broadband options available at all they may be flexible on early termination fees, but ultimately you entered into a contract and they aren't forcing you to move.

Technically no. Telstra do not have to void the contract if there isn't a valid reason

 

Essentially you signed a contract. Moving home is not a valid reason to void it, potentially with the exception of there being no available fixed line services available at all (E.g ADSL). Telstra's fixed line plans are all data limit based, not technology type. No matter what type of internet service you have (with the exception of mobile broadband) plans are the same price.
