Informed Telstra on 12/3 re moving house on 16/3. I am still waiting for my NBN connection.

Was informed on 12/3 after my initial phone call that there was an error with my order but not to worry!!! Didn't make sense. I have since made numerous phone calls to Telstra and complained on line to no avail. Everything is blamed on COVID-19. Telstra informed me via email that they will be charging me for extra usage on my Ipad which has a SIM card. This is disgraceful as the problem is not our fault. We cannot use our land line phone and my husband cant use his ipad to download stuff. It is over 14 days!!! Come on Telstra what about the rest of us who fortunately don't have corona virus we need to live too.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

They won't be charging you extra usage on your iPad. The message that got sent out was just very poorly worded.

If you are on a plan that has the automatic 1GB for $10 top ups, then they will be limited to $100 worth and then you will be throttled.

If you are on a plan that throttles you when you reach your included data, then you don't get charged anyway, so the $100 limit is moot.

Your options for contacting Telstra at this time are through either 132200, Facebook, or Twitter.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
