Hi there. I own a website - www.maidtoclean.com.au
The website has a plugin which had some malware affect it yesterday. The plugin fixed this issue today, however, this morning I stopped being able to access my website.
When I try to access it, i get redirected to a Sitelock page which said the server is down, although now it just says the host is not found. I contacted Sitelock and they said they can connect to the site fine and to try my hosting company, Bluehost.
I contacted Bluehost, and they said that the site is up for them and so it must be my ISP (Telstra) that is blocking the page.
Is there anyway to verify this and if so does anyone know what I can do to fix this? The guy from bluehost said that because my IP is blocked, getting a static IP would fix the issue. I did this (bought it for $2.99/mo) and I still cannot access my website.
Any help would be massively appreciated!
Thanks

Hi All,
We identified an issue connecting to some US providers yesterday. It was not an issue in our network but we worked with the providers to find a fix for our customers early this morning.

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
Telstra is unable to route the request to Unifiedlayer data center that houses big hosting accounts like blue hosts, hostgator and others.

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
I have just got off the phone to Bluehost support. The problem lies with Telstra as ISP where they have not yet re-added connection to Bluehost.com or Bluehost hosted sites from Australia after a major outage. According to the agent, Bluehost advised Telstra several hours ago, Telstra acknowledged the fault and said that it would shortly be fixed.
I have two major websites that I have not been able to see or update since early this morning Australian time.
It was reassuring that the Bluehost agent was able to visit the sites normally. It is not an issue other than for connections via Telstra.
If this is true then that was a 30-minute wait on a call to the US to get an answer to an issue that should have been broadcast by Telstra.

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
Wow Richa that's a fantastic response, thank you so much for the help. I really hope you are right.
It's odd though.. A plugin for my site had a malware problem yesterday and today my site starts playing up and not loading. I can't help but think they are related? The plugin has been fixed now. Do you think this could be a different issue?
I am waiting to talk to the tech-support at Bluehost again to see if they can double check the issue.
What's strange is I cannot access the website on my phone which has Vodafone for the internet?

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
I don't know if the malware problem is related to your issues today. It would be a coincidence.
If you can ask someone overseas to check your site or the bluehost person if you get through.

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
The bluehost team and people overseas can acces the site. Would this mean its definitely the issue you are talking about?

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
This is awesome information. Hopefully with Bluehost reaching out with Telstra we can get a resolution. I'm with Hostgator and experiencing the same problem with all my sites. Hostgator said everything is fine from their end. I have asked some people to check my sites and let me know their ISP. Seems only bigpond customers cant access them as others on IINet can and I can access them from my Optus connected mobile. Telstra tech support have advised they have received a lot of calls about this but because they are outsourced, the dont know what to do and can only feed the info back to their client Telstra. Meantime, I'm loosing business.

Re: IP Address blocked by Telstra?
If you need access to your websites while this issue persists use a VPN, even one located in Sydney or Melbourne.
Unfortunatley, any of your customers who are connected via Telstra won't know to do that.
