My IP was under attack by malware and ended up being published on the Internet as a FREE PROXY. I have since fixed the malware problem however I am still getting 1000's of failed proxy requests per second. I called Telstra support and they said they cannot change my IP address and that my only option was to buy a new modem or change providers!
Is Telstra for real? My case # is INT 1-250330756670

If you have a cable modem please power off the device for 24hrs as in unplug the cable from the back of the modem for 24hrs. This will reset the IP address and hopefully resolve your issue.
