Lay fibre from nearby NBN to my home
Hi folks. I live in a small town north of MELBOURNE. NBN is planning for my area, stating 2020 as the target. The fibre service when laid will stop about 200 metres from my house. I am on town gas and water and have Telstra ADSL 2 to my house. NBN has decided to put me on fixed wireless in an area that is heavily treed. As a result I am expecting a degradation of service. Is there a way to either stay with Telstra, or pay Telstra to pull fibre through the conduits that already exist and lay fibre to my home?

Re: Lay fibre from nearby NBN to my home
While you can get fixed wireless plans with Telstra, they unfortunately have nothing to do with the NBN rollout itself.
You can try for a premises technology switch under NBN's technology choice program:
Expect it to be incredibly expensive though. Even getting a quote costs $660. I've heard of people being quoted $300,000 to switch their premises
Or if you can get other people in the local area on board, you can try for an area switch:
Again expect it to be very expensive
