NBN and Telstra gateway

Answered

I self installed the NBN modem and the Telstra modem. i did it correctly. My internet works but is always in mobile backup mode with the blue light instead of the green light. Nothing I can do will get it to run through the NBN with the green light. I use a UPS but have correctly configured that into the system.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? I have spent hours on the phone, gone to the nearest Telstra shop three times and nothing changes. It is over a month now and I am becoming desperate. I would be very grateful for any help on this.

Regards,

John Spencer

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

AFAIK, there is no NBN modem... Can you please be more specific?

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

There is no NBN modem of course. I meant the black NBN box. All four lights on it are working correctly.

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

I noticed in my network settings that IPv4 says internet but IPv6 says no internet.

Could you log into the Telstra modem http://192.168.0.1, password is Telstra, Go to Advanced > Diagnostics > Connection and post the connection info. See example below.

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

Had a similar problem when I switched to telstra cable a few years back, ended up being a poor signal due to a faulty conection in service pit outside in street, after about a month a service tec found fault and fixed it. Runs briliantly and I am dreading switching to NBN Im getting 110Mbs with kids and tv running. Hope you get it sorted

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

Hi,

I think I have the same problem, I set up the nbn box and smart modem 2 yesterday. The nbn box shows all 4 green lights, but the modem is only connecting to backup 4g (blue light).

How did you manage to fix yours?

I didn't manage to fix it. It is still the same. I am still chasing up Telstra. It's over a month now.

Re: NBN and Telstra gateway

We had this same issue when we moved to NBN late last year. After hours and hours on the phone with Telstra they finally sent out a technician and it was an issue at the exchange, nothing we could do at our end
