NBN and Telstra not communicating

So I order NBN with Telstra Online. 

Get SMS with order # and an installation date

Receive modem in mail.

No one arrives on day - call Telstra - they don't recognise my order number "NBNO-###..." Said it should start different. 

Anyway they say they are sorry and will escalate. 

Two weeks later after install Telstra SMS me and say delays. 

Same day the NBN contract knocks on my door assessing he needs a cherry picker to finish. 

He installs, new cable, drills hole in wall. Nbn point right there. 

I call to see next step and am told sorry my install is delayed until March. 

I protest that it is in fact done, and it seems I just need the little black box is all. 

They say it isn't according to NBN and I'll have to wait until March. 

I get confused as I can see the installation and I spoke to the man installing it. 

Consider for a minute that I have gone mad and imagined the whole interaction - reach down and touch the connection, no - it's real!


So what do?

I have connection.

I have white modem.

I have a order number that doesn't work in Telstra tracker.

I have no one to call.

Can't call NBN.

Do I cancel and start again and sat "surprise someone else already installed"?
