NBN FFTN connection problems due to how old phone extensions have been wired

Answered

We have had connection problems and slow speed on NBN. An NBN technician has advised this could be because we have multiple old phone extensions split off the original phone line and that this can cause problems as NBN modems are more sensitive to this than ADSL modems.

Has anyone had a similar problem? Should we have the old extensions removed and the one outlet needed for NBN rewired directly to the incoming line?

Hi @PClarke

The NBN technician is correct about how volatile VDSL is. In my opinion what you describe is the best thing to do and in general for anyone using FTTN. The downside is that it is at your expense
