NBN Gateway

I have a Telstra NBN Gateway and I don’t have a long enough DSL cable to connect the phone socket on the wall to the Gateway box so I have used two cables with a Telstra splitter in the middle to act as a double adapter. Will this work?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: NBN Gateway

It want work if it is a ADSL filter splitter and you use the phone port on the splitter. The phone port has a filter that filters out the high frequency DSL tones.

Re: NBN Gateway

Thanks for the quick reply what if I use the ADSL modem connection on the splitter instead of the local phone connection? Would that work instead?

Re: NBN Gateway

If this is what you mean it should work but the splitter could cause potential faults and might decrease the speed. Better to use a longer phone cable.

Phone Socket--------Phone Cable------Splitter (DSL Port)-------Phone Cable-------Gateway

                                                                     |-(Phone Port) No connection
