NBN migration from ADSL2+

Hello

I have read numerous posts regarding the move to NBN technonolgy.

I have received an email from Telstra stating that NBN sevices are ready for me to connect and the Telstra NBN Connection Kit is on the way. The Kit will include a Telstra Gateway Max (Wi-Fi modem), a new cordless home phone etc.

I currently have a third party modem/router (Wi-Fi) to which I connect a laptop, a printer, and a Thub2.

I have a third party wireless phone to which the base station connects through a filter to the telephone line.

I understand that once the NBN migration is made I will be using the Telstra Gateway Max.

Questions:

1. Will I be able to connect (wireless) the printer to the Telstra Gateway Max? Is the procedure the same as a standard ADSL modem?

2. Will I be alble to connect (wireless) the Thub2? Is the procedure the same as a standard ADSL modem?

Thanks in advance.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Is there a way of using the printer FAX feature? It currently connects into the filter phone socket.

Re: NBN migration from ADSL2+

It seems as though i can use my existing wireless phone/basestation by plugging it into the green phone socket on the back of the telstra gateway.

Is my understanding correct?

Re: NBN migration from ADSL2+

Yes you plug the phone into the modem. All existing sockets in the house will not be able to be used for phone connections after NBN is setup
