NBN Migration

Hi guys 


I received a letter from Telstra that it is mandatory to switch to Nbn before a certain date in October 2020. I’m currently stuck in India and not sure when I’ll be able to travel back to Melbourne. The letter mentioned that if I don’t switch before the due date then my current Adsl connection will be disconnected. I tried seeking help through messaging Telstra through the app but no one is responding and now messages aren’t getting delivered. Is there a possibility I can get an exemption and extend the due date? I tried ordering Nbn online but it asks for drivers license details and mentions the person collecting the parcel should have the same driver’s license so I don’t think I can order online and get the Nbn modem delivered to a friend. Please help. Thanks in advance!
