NBN Transfer from Cable... Worst experience.

Had telstra cable at my current address for 4 years... 100mbps down 2mbps up.. No issues, rock solid connection. I was very happy with it..

Submitted an order to switch over to NBN on April 10th, Also ordered the "Super Fast Speed Boost 100/40".

NBN installed and running April 25th, However no speed boost, told that it will take another day. Day comes and goes no speed boost, call up, escalated again and again and again..

Currently been 3 weeks since the order has been "Stuck in provisioning"

Complaint raised SR1-1137847472482

Case manager has been helpfull as he can be, has sent emails and has been told it will be looked at but it still hasnt been yet.

Just want the speed boost.. not that hard is it?

If i have of known it would be this much of a hassle, I would of kept my cable connection for as long as i could have. Very unimpressed by telstra telling me that I NEED to switch over.. bull**bleep**.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: NBN Transfer from Cable... Worst experience.

What speed did you end up with after the speed boost?

I am extremely cheesed off with telstra at the moment, I switched from my 'Fast' cable service to the NBN and immediatly got a 35% drop in speed.

I went from an average download speed on the cable of 35MB, to a crappy 25MB(at best) on the NBN.

I thought NBN was supposed to have been better, not only is it slower, but the reliability is worse.

What really upsets me, is that when I switched over, I specificalyy asked for a comparable service to what I had, I feel extremely RIPPED OFF.

If I had known this was going to happen, I would have waited until next year when I would be forced to move off of my very, very reliable cable service.

Oh, and maybe I still will switch to someone else - not necessarily because of speed or cost(and Telstra is no where near the cheapest), but I just don't like being fed a load of BS by telstra. Lately, I sometimes wonder why I have remained loyal to telstra over the years (at least 30 years)
