Perth to singapore ping and routing issue
The sea-me-we-3 break has been fixed for some time now and running a ping test (from Perth where i'm located) for various Singaporean IPs gives me a latency of 102-110ms rather than the expected ~60ms.
Here is a tracert showing the routing it is taking to singapore
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1
2 10 ms 7 ms 8 ms 10.206.64.1
3 7 ms 9 ms 7 ms 58.160.252.130
4 8 ms 8 ms 9 ms bundle-ether4.wel-edge902.perth.telstra.net [203.50.112.56]
5 9 ms 11 ms 7 ms bundle-ether7.wel-core3.perth.telstra.net [203.50.6.190]
6 11 ms 15 ms 7 ms tengige0-7-0-0.pthw-core01.perth.net.reach.com [203.50.13.226]
7 102 ms 111 ms 103 ms i-15354.pthp-core02.telstraglobal.net [202.84.221.201]
8 100 ms 102 ms 100 ms i-0-2-0-20.siko11.bi.telstraglobal.net [202.84.140.38]
9 100 ms 103 ms 99 ms i-93.istt04.telstraglobal.net [202.84.224.190]
10 101 ms 99 ms 99 ms unknown.telstraglobal.net [210.176.138.195]
11 * * * Request timed out.
12 102 ms 103 ms 101 ms 103.28.54.16
Is there an ETA on when this will be fixed or why it hasn't yet?

Re: Perth to singapore ping and routing issue
I have asked two friends on two different ISP's to run a tracert to the same IP, and they are both getting ~68ms to singapore. Is there a reason Telstra doesn't use this same routing currently?

Re: Perth to singapore ping and routing issue
Its pretty normal for online IP geolocators to be completely incorrect. IP's were probably purchased via Telstra Gobal's Hong Kong office
pthp-core02 is Perth (on pier street off the top of my head) and pthw is wellington street. (Can even see this via https://www.telstraglobal.com/network-infrastructure-map/#/map and turning on points of presence)
Can you traceroute 202.84.140.38 now and ping -n 50 and post the results
I'm getting the expected latency time from Queensland using an almost identical outbound route using a slightly different path as it bounces around in Perth (roughly 126 ping from Townsville)

Re: Perth to singapore ping and routing issue
Just trying to determine if the latency time is between perth to singapore or while the connection is still in perth
So far it looks like it the issue isn't between perth and singapore
