Scheduled Maintenance nbn causing latency to increase

13.03.19 NBN carried out maintenance in my area. I was advised of this by Telstra and did experience a short drop out at night. The following day I noticed that my ping speed went up slightly no matter what time of the day. I have a very good ping speed still. But was wondering why this has happened.

Probably due to changes they have made or a change in routing due to the maintenance
