Selecting phone line for FTTC connection

We’ll shortly be connecting to nbn via FTTC

We have 3 phone lines coming into the house, one is in the ideal wall-plate location for nbn install.

How do I nominate which line gets connected by nbn from the curb pit to the house?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Selecting phone line for FTTC connection

Do all 3 lines have separate phone numbers?

The NBN technician will come and install a Reverse Power Unit in the premises. This will need to be located near a power point and wallsocket and is what the gateway will plug into

Re: Selecting phone line for FTTC connection

Hi Yasti,
Yes all three have separate phone numbers (one with internet) and 3 separate wall plugs in the house.
Id like the reverse power box to be next to a particularly convenient wallplug,
but doesn’t that mean the nbn connection in the pit will have to be to that physical phone line.

Yeah it will. My only suggestion would be, when the time comes, to make sure you put in the NBN order against the phone number of the socket you want it to go to

Thx again.

Makes sense.

i didn’t realise that I had any input to the nbn connection process before that suddenly said “its on”,

Re: Selecting phone line for FTTC connection

What makes the most sense to me would be for NBN not to splice in their DPU to your premises prior to your actual changeover due to there being 3 lead-ins. While it will cause a delay when changing you over, it also means they don't connect it to potentially the 'wrong' lead-in

That being said what makes sense to me doesn't necessarily mean it will end up getting applied in your case
