Hi all,
I have ethernet plugged directly from smart modem gen1 to the lg smart tv in another room.
However it can not connect to the gateaway and DNS servers to complete the connection.
Wifi does work on tv but the wired connection does not
Ip address recognized
subnet mask recognized
Getaway is blank
DNS server is blank
Mac address recognized
I have reset, unplugged, changed cables with no success
Any solutions would be great👍

Re: Smart modem gen 1 gateaway and DNS server issues
Is the TV listed in the connected device on the modem's home page? If not showing on home page is the LAN port used by TV shown as connected in the modem's Advanced > Diagnostics > Network page? You can log into modem by opening a web browser on a device connected to modem and going to http://192.168.0.1.

Re: Smart modem gen 1 gateaway and DNS server issues
I have 4 ports that are yellow and 1 in red in the diognostics page
port 2,3 (yellow) and 5 (red) are showing connected
I have 3 out of 3 router ports connected by ethernet 2 of which work but the 3rd which is the LG tv is not
when tv is switched on it shows ethernet connected but is not actually connecting
Only
Ip address recognized
subnet mask recognized
not the Getaway and DNS numbers

Re: Smart modem gen 1 gateaway and DNS server issues
It sounds like the Ethernet port on the TV is faulty or the Ethernet cable that connects TV to modem is faulty. There should be three yellow ports (LAN ports) shown as connected if three devices are connected by ethernet. The only thing you could try doing is entering the IP address manually.
IP address: 192.168.0.xx
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 192.168.0.1
