Smart modem
Hi
our Telstra smart modem seems to permanently use mobile data with weak signal. The nbn box lights look ok and when I plug computer directly into nbn box internet is working. However using wan cable from nbn box to Telstra smart modem the modem uses mobile data and thus wifi is weak. I have tried to reset modem but didn’t help

Re: Smart modem
Have you lodged a faultwith Telstra? When connected to NBN is the WAN/DSL light on the back of the modem green?

Re: Smart modem
It sounds like you may have a faulty WAN port on your modem.
A call to 1800 834 273 may be in order. They'll probably send you a new modem.
Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
