Unable to Cancel Telstra Essential Internet package

I am stuck in the Philippines due to COVID19 flight restrictions and trying to cancel my Essential Internet package which is costing me $70 per month even though the monthly usage is Zero.  Have tried calling 132200 but the voicemail says "nobody available to take my call, try using the online messaging service", and then cuts me off.

The Online Messaging service is ridiculous because it is just the virtual assistant and going around in circles as it only offers me options to upgrade, pay a bill, move house etc.  but no option to cancel.

This is becoming very frustrating and stressful.

Please can somebody help me...

Re: Unable to Cancel Telstra Essential Internet package

Literally call and answer all questions as if you’re a new customer. It seems Telstra is only using their Call centres to assist new customers rather than their existing customers.

Re: Unable to Cancel Telstra Essential Internet package

In the My Telstra app, when Codi runs out of options, type "Speak to a consultant" and you should be transferred to the queue to chat to a human.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Set it & forget it

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
