Upgrading NBN plan for higher speed

I'm currently using NBN 50 plan and want to upgrade to NBN 100 premium so I can get more speed. Do I need a new modem from Telstra to upgrade to that plan or is it as simple as upgrading online and my current modem just resets itself?

Re: Upgrading NBN plan for higher speed

You don't need an new Telstra modem. It simply requires a few code changes on your NBN connection by NBN Co which change the speed of the connection. The NBN 100 premium speed is only available to FTTP or HFC NBN connections. If your NBN is FTTC, FTTB or FTTN the NBN 100 premium speed is not available.
