Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi, can someone please tell me how to change my home phone (pstn) to NBN home phone only. Can I do this online without ringing up.

I tried through the nbn page but it only gives option got data plans.

I currently have ultimate voice landline which will be disconnected in sept.

If i order ultimate voice in account, will that give me nbn modem and connection, as that's what it talk about in the critical summary of the plan. Cheers

Was this helpful?

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi @PatriciaD

Having just done more research on this topic than I thought I would need to.

It appears you can't do this without calling Telstra.

If someone else can find a link, I'm happy to be corrected?

I know you can do it as my grandmother is on one, I think she got a letter in the mail about how to switch over, I did it for her but that was years ago.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi Rohan

Thanks for doing the research. I was hoping to do it online, as she is 93, and I did have full authority to call and do such things, but when her husband passed away she had to get a new account in her name and they didn't transfer the authority across.

It is just another step in the procedure that is annoying and makes things more difficult than they should be.

They sent her a letter as well. Makes it difficult when she is in aged care.

Cheers

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi @PatriciaD

Thankyou for the reply and kind words.

My grandmother is also 93 and I am fully authorized on her account.

I think the reason you lost your full authority is because the account was in her Husbands name not your grandmothers name, so even though the account might have had joint names on the bill, Her husband was the legal Lessee.

If your idea was to do it online to avoid the not being authorized on her account scenario, it would not have worked anyway.

you can send me a private msg on crowd support to discuss further.

Just click on my picture and click send msg.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi rohan, thanks very much for the replies. Sorry for my delay.

I was able to get an appt at the aged care, and rang telstra and got it all sorted while on speaker phone. Took over an hour after waiting 20 mins to get answered, but finally got full authority and started an order for the change to nbn voice only.

Fingers crossed all goes well.

Cheers for the help.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi @PatriciaD

Happy to help,

You should have received a Telstra order number, Either  on your Telstra app via your phone/tablet.

Or via email.

Or via my account on pc.

You can track your order number here below.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

@Rohan123 as an FYI, you can order through the https://www.telstra.com.au/home-phone page.

You enter your address in the search, then pop back up to the plan and click continue to enter the service details. It then takes you through the rest of the process.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi @Jupiter

You are correct.

I would like to note that it seems there is only one NBN voice only plan @55pm.

Think my grandmother pays $25pm, Obviously she has to pay for the calls she makes.

Unlike the $55 plan where calls are included.

Thanks for setting me straight Smiley Happy

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Yes. She would be on the special Pensioner only plan (XS), which isn't open to everyone and you have to talk to Telstra about getting access to that plan. It can't be done online.

Re: Change home phone plan to nbn home phone

Hi all,

She is on the Ultimate voice as don't need any data.

It's the same as she was on with pstn, but now the nbn version.

Modem installed without a hitch in her room, telstra guy was great with her.

The plan is $55, but get $10 per month pensioner discount, so only $45 as she likes to have all calls included, especially mobiles.

Thanks for all your help guys, all worked out well, and up and running Cheers
