DISCONNECT OF LANDLINE

I have recently installed a Third Party Modem as I have had (3) so called Telstra Smart Modema that haven't been very smart.  I contacted Telstra and they advised me to purchase a Netgear Modem but I would not be be able to use my landline. I don't have

Fibre Optic to my housed and use my phone line for internet.  I have tried to contact telstra to no avail.

Am I able to have my phone line/number disconnected and it not interfere with my Internet & can I get it diverted to my mobile.

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you

Re: DISCONNECT OF LANDLINE

This is easy fix. Use your telatra modem. Change its setting to be an access point. Leave phone plugged into it. Then use one port only via ethernet to the wan port on your netgear replacement. Your netgear will do all the work then of wifi and ethernet ports. And the tel smart modem will supply the phone as required and thw internet to your netgear.
