Extend ring time on home phone on NBN

Just connected to NBN. My home phone rings for approx 15 seconds and then either goes to message bank or nothing depending on whether I have message bank turned on or off. Have tried *9955# **61*101**55# but neither work. At present the only way to communicate with Telstra is via their app.  Have spent approx 4 hours on Telstra app twice with no result. They get you to try the above numbers, reset the modem, unplug phones, change phones, reset things from their end and after all that they say a specialist will contact me. Guess what?. No one contacts me. So you have to go through the whole process again. Please if someone has any way to fix this problem or any way to contact Telstra I would be grateful. Using COVID 19 as a excuse by Telstra to offer no customer support is a disgrace.
