father is a pensioner, how do we find out if he is registered as a pensioner with telstra

the nearest telstra shop is over 60km away and he is over 80 so shouldn't travel.

Hi - if you are in his company, you can call Telstra, introduce yourself on behalf of your father and request the information. The contact centre person will then want to speak with your father to verify his full name, birthday and address and ask him if he approves of you being an authorised representative in relation to enquiries or directions for any dealings with his account. Make sure you are the formally registered for any future enquiries. 

 

They should be able to verify his registered pensioner status in regards to any discounts and classification for Priority Assistance if there are any health issues. Not sure if his status for these categories is printed on any accounts received. If you live remote from him, you can initiate the call to Telstra and use Three-Party-Conference from your home phone to connect your father into the conversation.
