Hi. We recently had a Telstra home phone line established at our house with the intent of getting a naked DSL connection with another carrier. We were unable to simply activate the line and had to select a monthly plan with the service. How do we now cancel this monthly plan so that there is no ongoing charge from Telstra without deactivating the line? Is there a charge for cancelling the monthly plan?
Cath.

Until then though, Telstra will continue to bill you line rental at the agreed rate.

Re: How to keep our phone line active without an ongoing monthly charge?
In addition to this, if you're switching to another provider on naked, then the line rental from Telstra will automatically ceases when the transfer to the other company is completed.

Re: How to keep our phone line active without an ongoing monthly charge?
Thanks - If the alternate provider cannot provide a 'naked' internet service at our new address, do we need to keep paying monthly fees to telstra even if the alternate provider is actually providing our phone and internet service? I understand that we would have to pay $100 for early termination to telstra, but would the line still work?
