Telstra technician fixed a problem with home phone not making a audible ring with an incoming call even though the incoming number was displaying on the phone. Now the phone rings but I do not get the number displayed.
Is there a way I can activate it ?

Hi - is the phone with the display connected to Answering machine? If so, can you turn off the handset power button, then turn off the answering machine, wait 30 seconds, turn on answering machine, then turn on the cordless phone. Maybe whatever was done at the change has confused the cordless system software.
Was this helpful?
- Yes it was, thank you
- No, I still need help

Re: Incoming Caller ID
Hi Beep,
Did you get a message from Telstra, saying that you home phone had been changed to digital (or something like that?)?
I got an sms from them which said the above and I lost it.
What you have described is exactly what I am facing. We were sitting on the lounge last night and the phone was no more than 2m from us and our daughter rang, phone remained silent and she got as far as call guardian.
If I find an answer I will post to here, can you please do the same?

Re: Incoming Caller ID
Thanks for responding Garry. I didn't any SMS from Telstra regarding digital service and we are not on NBN yet (not looking forward to that!)
But after about 20 years of knowing who was calling in on the landline - now I get nothing indicated. This is how we screened nuisance calls ignoring numbers we did not know.
So what happened a few weeks ago now was that I would see caller id show on my phone that someone was calling in but phone did not ring and answering machine did not pick up.
Telstra technician fixed something at the exchange so now my pone rings but it does not display the incoming number.
I've seen their is some code you can punch in to prevent your number from going out with an outgoing call - so I was wandering if there is one to turn on incoming callerID.

Re: Incoming Caller ID
Hi Bob,
Don't know what is going on, my other daughter rang this morning and no trouble at all. Must have been a day long gremlin.

Re: Incoming Caller ID
Thanks Mkrtich for your suggestion - I tried that and it made no difference - still nothing is displayed on incoming calls.
I remember when it used to be an added feature on the landline plan (I think about $5 or $10 per month) - now Telstra don't mention it in the details. I'm on a plan that is called "Best Bundle Ever", you'd think that everything should be covered.

Re: Incoming Caller ID
Not sure how the Accepted Solution got a tick here, as it not is not resolved.
One would expect your Broadband Bundle to include the CLID feature. Years ago, we paid $6 per month for the feature on the separate telephone line service and when we went onto a Bundle plan, it was included free of charge. I think you will need to contact Telstra on 13 2200 to get them to revalidate that the feature is active.
I did pick up a web address in the Telstra Thanks Program (may have been superseded by the current Telstra Plus loyalty program) for people who bundled Phone/Internet/Foxtel/Mobile which allowed you to activate CLID on this web address - "To activate Calling Number Display, go to telstra.com.au/cnd or call us on 13 2200" - unaware if the web site access is applicable to your bundle. If you can get through on 13 2200, it should be fixed on the call.

Re: Incoming Caller ID
It is still a voice feature that comes with a cost associated.
I'd check with sales or billing (if you can get through) to see if it's still active on the service

Re: Incoming Caller ID
I have tried to call Telstra quite a few times but give up after a couple of hours of the annoying wait music.
Maybe I 'll have to put up with the fault until COVID-19 calms down,
