Re: LANDLINE BROKEN - OVER TWO YEARS. WE ARE ELDERLY AND NEED THIS PHONE!
Looks like it's been thrown in the "TOO HARD" bin. Complain to the TIO (Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman) It probably still won't get it fixed for you though. Better to ditch the landliine and just change to mobile. You can get telephone handsets with Bluetooth that you can tether to your mobile if you prefer to use a normal telephone set at home.
TELSTRA Customer Service is broken. Conversations with case managers just go around in circles with promised solutions that don't happen.
I've had association with TELSTRA (PMG) since 1970 but I am disgruntled with performance regarding customer service today. When the system is working it works well. When something goes wrong a solution is painfull.

Re: LANDLINE BROKEN - OVER TWO YEARS. WE ARE ELDERLY AND NEED THIS PHONE!
This sounds like the problem my mother has been having. NBN is now available in her area. Will this help with the home phone having a lot of interference when making calls?

Re: LANDLINE BROKEN - OVER TWO YEARS. WE ARE ELDERLY AND NEED THIS PHONE!
If the installers get the NBN right the first time then things could improve greatly but if not then service could be a nightmare. After NBN you may need to deal with 2 operators to get things fixed. NBN Co own the network (All cabling and connections outside of your property) and your service provider (TELSTRA) is responsible for the data and what's connected at either end. When problems occur I expect that they will turn blaming each other for the fault into an art form. My suggestion - Go mobile.

Re: LANDLINE BROKEN - OVER TWO YEARS. WE ARE ELDERLY AND NEED THIS PHONE!
If you or your partner have a life threatening illness, your home phone service should be eligible for medical Priority Assistance service. This gives you a higher level of service due to serious illness.
If I have helped you, a "Like" would be appreciated.
