Pick up phone and counts

Hello,

I call my parents home phone and at there end when they pick up it’s counts 1-2-3-4-5 and then hangs up, if they start talking before it ends then they can take the call? Any thoughts? Thanks Tash

Hi - haven't seen that one before. Are your parents using a traditional exchange line service without a modem, a broadband ADSL + telephone service provided on copper wires or is their telephone handset connected to an NBN modem?

If the later, you could try to turn OFF the power to the modem and wait a few minutes and then turn power ON again. If that doesn't work, the only thing I can think of is a Factory Reset of the Modem. If that doesn't work or not applicable , a call to Telstra Faults.
