stutter tone and can't dial out

I have a new glitch with my home line - there is persistent stutter tone (which sounds louder than the usual Home Messages tone) when I try to dial out and then it simply disconnects (so I'm unable to even call Home Messages!). I've tried ringing the number and leaving a message but it makes no difference....anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: stutter tone and can't dial out

If you want to self-service, then try calling your home number (from a different phone – I'm not sure if it works trying to call yourself on the home phone) but let it ring out, and leave a voice message, then call 101 from your home phone and delete the message.

That may, or may not, resolve the issue.

Or, you can just ring Telstra to report it as a fault 132203 , and get the customer service representative to reset your MessageBank service.
