Using dedicated VOIP handset instead of DECT handset

Would much prefer to switch over to using a dedicated VOIP handset to allow me to retire the "smart" modem and hopefully get a more reliable phone service.   The current DECT into the Telstra modem disconnects all the time.

Can find any settings though that would allow me to set up the VOIP handset.   Has anyone successfully configured VOIP on the NBN setup for Telstra?

Was this helpful?

  • Yes it was, thank you
  • No, I still need help

Re: Using dedicated VOIP handset instead of DECT handset

It is not possible to configure a VOIP handset or VOIP adapter to work on a Telstra NBN voice service. Have you tried using a normal cordless phone with its base plugged into the phone port on the modem?
