Voicemail setup (activate visual voicemail) T-hub2 Tablet with telstra NBN Home Network Gateway

Hi I have recently been moved to Telstra NBN with the new Home Network Gateway. My Uniden Cordless phones have operated very spasmodically and in the end they completely stopped working. So I decided to activate a Telstra T-hub2 DECT phone and Tablet (that I had not been in-service for some time) as our home phone service.

 

I have the DECT phone and Telstra tablet able to make and receive phone calls but cannot get the Voicemail to setup (activate visual voicemail) on the Tablet.

 

  1. I select the Message Icon on the tablet screen which then takes me to the following screen.
  2. I get to the screen that says "You need to link your account to a phone number."
  • I enter  my account details (telstra 24x7 account and password) I have verified that I have these correctly entered.
  • Press the "Setup Now" button
  • System shows on a flash screen "...checking account details..."
  • System then come back with "...Linking user to PSTN service failed, end install wizard. ..."
  • System then returns to 2. "You need to link your account to a phone number"

The registration platform for the T-hub2 has been non-existant for a while now

It has been a discontinued product for years

You can bypass the set up process on the T-Hub 2 using the steps described in the below threads. Please let us know how you go.
