0.2MBps Download, 4.7MBps upload

Apple iPhone 11 running 13.6.1 Telstra post paid service, current use only 12% of allowance. On 4G network, 3 to 4 bars reception. Have turned wifi off and powered phone off and on. Download ludicrously slow at 0.2MBps, upload ok at 4.7MBps. Can’t get hold of a human in Telstras call centre and have been waiting for a reply to their message/chat service for the last 40 minutes. Any suggestions? L

Congestion on the local tower is the usual cause when the download is slower than the uploads.

 

You can check for outages in your area via https://outages.telstra.com (which will then take you through some checks afterwards if you want to do them).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.

Thanks for the reply. I checked last night and couldn’t find any outages in the area. Speeds are good this morning and the fault has been closed without any feedback which is a bit disappointing.

With direct debit there’s no need to give paying your bill another thought.

Avoid queuing up and never worry about late fees again.
