Cannot connect to RDC from mobile device but works from home NBN.
I am using a Netgear LB2120 3g/4g modem router. Have port forwarded and it works a treat to RDC into remote computer from home. This only worked after having business sim card and had GPTEXB3 codes applied and using dynamic DNS to keep IP address updated. Unfortunatley it will not connect when same computer/tablet/laptop is connected via built in sim card or using mobile phone hotspot. Why is this? Does it need other special codes on business sim card? Thanks.

Re: Cannot connect to RDC from mobile device but works from home NBN.
Most mobile Broadband services don't have a public IP address for the Dynamic DNS service to update. They have carrier grade NAT, the WAN address of the mobile device is behind a carrier NAT.Only some business broadband services have a public IP address. You will need another business SIM with same codes.

Re: Cannot connect to RDC from mobile device but works from home NBN.
I may not have expained myself. I can successfully RDC into the 3g/4g router from a home NBN connection (which proves to me that the sim in the 3g/4g router has the correct codes).
It is when I try and RDC from a mobile sim device into the 3g/4g that is does not work.
In other words the NBN connection can see the public IP address of the 3g/4g sim but other mobile device sims cannot?

Re: Cannot connect to RDC from mobile device but works from home NBN.
Do the other mobile sim devices have GPTEXB3 as well? Wondering whether it could be being blocked by the netgear because the incoming connection is CGNAT'ED
Does the netgear respond to pings? If so, can you ping and traceroute the IP from both your home computer and the mobile SIM?

Re: Cannot connect to RDC from mobile device but works from home NBN.
No the other SIMs and mobile phones are not on business plans and have not purposly applied GTPEXB3 codes. This would be rediculous if the device you where dialing in from had to be setup special.
What do you mean by CGNAT'ED?
The netgear router is in bypass mode, feeding into TP-LINK router that has Port forwarding and Dyn DNS as Netgear doesnt have Dyn DNS.
I havernt tried "dialing in" from a different provider SIMs only Telstra.
Works fine "dialing in" from a NBN connection.
Disregarding router configs , surely it should be possible to RDC from an external mobile connection?
Thanks.
