Does anyone have this problem with their Nighthawk M2 Router?

Answered

Why is it with the Nighthawk M2 Router (MR2100) that devices connected to 5G WiFi or via network cable to the RJ45 port, either stand-alone or through a switch, cannot print to printers connected to 2.4G WiFi? I've had to connect all of my devices to 2.4G WiFi in order to give them print access.

Model: MR2100|Mobile Router Nighthawk M2

Applies to all computers on 5G WiFi ;- running;-

Windows 7(two computers 32 and 64 bit)

Windows 8.1(64 bit)

Windows 10(64 bit)

Printers ;- Brother MFC-J825DW, HP Photosmart eStn C510a

MR2100 firmware NTGX24_10.17.10.00

Re: Does anyone have this problem with their Nighthawk M2 Router?

Pretty standard problem across a wide range of netgear routers - in that devices on one wifi band cannot "see" the devices on the other band.

Resetting the router normally resolves the problem. If you customised any of the settings, change them back one at a time and note whether or not your devices can see the devices on the other band after each change (to identify any settings that upset the routing).

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
