error message on Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna 4G

Hi, our Smart Antenna has been operating fine ever since installation over 12 months ago, however this morning there is an error message advising the units are too far apart. The units have not been moved. We have moved the units closer together, however the message still appears. Any suggestions please?

Re: error message on Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna 4G

I used these units prior to changing to a Go. Normally the fault message is that they're too close together. I've  just checked mine (old units) for a reset button but can't find one. Suggest you switch both units off for 15 mins then try again. Is the antenna connector finger tight?

If the problem continues you'll need to ring the 1800 support number in the manual. Let us know if it comes good.

Some things to consider

1.Have you changed your home WiFi set up?

2. Are the rooms very hot?

3. Are the many air vents clear?

4. What is the normal distance between the units?

5. Is there a line of sight between units?

6. Are you now closing a door between units?

7. Does the external antenna appear ok?

Re: error message on Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna 4G

I forgot to mention...but its very relevant...

If after leaving off to cool down and reboot... you switch on again and no difference.... simply rotate each unit slightly up to 180 degrees in Very small increments ... check ... then the other unit.

The internal antennas that communicate between the 2 units... are very directional and can make the difference between having or not having an error message.
