Netgear Nighthawk M1 - is it unlocked?
HI, I have a Telstra Netgear Nighthawk M1 router that is out of contract now.
Is it unlocked so I can use an alternative service provider?

Re: Netgear Nighthawk M1 - is it unlocked?
You should be able to use any SIM, provided the provider uses the same bands that the modem is capable of. Sometimes all you can do is try it and see if it works for you.
Too many devices, probably an addict :-) also a tinkerer and developer of stuff..
Not with Telstra, just another customer like you!

Re: Netgear Nighthawk M1 - is it unlocked?
Was it a postpaid or prepaid device? Only prepaid would be locked I think.
Also you say out of contract? is that for the plan or the device repayments?

Re: Netgear Nighthawk M1 - is it unlocked?
The device was a post paid (i paid for it every month when the bill came in). The contract for the device was 2 years. That was up at the end of last year. I cancelled the mobile broadband because I didn't ned it anymore and Telstra was to expensive anyway.
I ow want to go with another provider, hence asking if it is unlocked

Re: Netgear Nighthawk M1 - is it unlocked?
Should be unlocked, quickest way to check is to put in another SIM - data type. You'll soon know if its locked -
