Re: Remote access to Synology NAS with Telstra Smart Next Gen2 Modem
Which version of the Smart modem do you have there are two one made by Arcadyan LH1000 and the other by Technicolor?
To access NAS remotely you will need to set up port forwarding as per this link in the Gen 2 modem.

Re: Remote access to Synology NAS with Telstra Smart Next Gen2 Modem
Hi, @343GuiltySpark ,
thanks for your reply, i've already set up port forwarding within the modem.
It's weird because I can connect to other services like Plex and Photos remotely.
But cannot connect to server on my Mac.
Thanks

Re: Remote access to Synology NAS with Telstra Smart Next Gen2 Modem
Id double check the ports required by the NAS, delete the current rules as re-add them.
Also what's the model number of your modem as @cf4 asked as he Might have another idea of what's going on.

Re: Remote access to Synology NAS with Telstra Smart Next Gen2 Modem
I've figured it out.
It turns out the ports i was trying to connect to use WebDav and this wasn't enabled on my server. Once enabled I was able to connect using the 'Connect to Server' method on my Mac laptop.
I originally thought it had something to do with the two modem problem.
Thanks for the help.
