Why do we suddenly have SOS only?

We have 5 mobile services with Telstra in our household and all are showing SOS only tonight.  This started around 6pm and still no service 5 hours later.  The same thing happened for several hours 2 days ago.  I can't call Telstra as I have no service.  I have friends in our area who are also experiencing this and when you check the outages it says there is none in our area.  Can anyone help?

Possibly maintenance on the local tower (although that should be listed).


Send a message using the My Telstra app on your mobile (blue icon, bottom right of Get Help screen) to report the issue. If Codi tries to send you somewhere else, type "Speak to a consultant" and you should be transferred to the queue to chat to a human.


If you have phones that have VoWifi capability (iPhones, Samsungs (if bought from Telstra)), then turn your wifi on and you should still be able to make and receive calls.

Never be afraid to back yourself when trying new things, just always make sure you have 3 escape routes if things go wrong.
