Cannot connect to Telstra network

Hi,

 

I just returned from Germany after 1.5 years and have been keeping my mobile account active.  I got a new unlocked phone while there.  When I came back, I went to the telstra shop to cut my Telstra sim into a micro sim in order to fit into my new phone.  The problem is that I am not connected and when I force it to select the "Telstra Mobile" network, the error message is "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network".  I tried turning it on and off again with no luck.

Could it be an issue with how it was cut?

 

Do you have any ideas what could be the problem?

Hi There

 

What sort of phone do you have?

 

I'm thinking that your Telstra sim maybe an older type and may not support 4G, therefore your phone maybe trying connect to Telstra's 4G network.  If this turns out to be the problem, just go back to a telstra shop and get a sim swap done, there won't be a charge normally to swap a sim over to a new one.
