Mobile Broadband Service update 22/04/20

I have just received an email re mobile service update for my account No. 2000 62246 2487.

This account allows me to operate my mobile phone (Samsung Galaxy A70) and internet data on my home computer via a Nighthawk router that I purchased from Telstra. I pay a combined $84 per month on the Telstra plan. I do not have access to NBN as I live in a rural area. I need to have fast internet speeds and the current plan gives me that.

My interpretation of the Telstra email is that as from 22 April, I will no longer be able to be able to make or receive voice calls on my phone. If that interpretation is correct, then I cannot see that Telstra's changes are in any way helping me as a customer. Is my interpretation correct? JOHN DEANE
