Mobile data not operating on new microSIM

Hello, I recently changed to a new phone - Samsung Galaxy Note II - and requested and received a microSIM for that phone. It has been activated and is working perfectly for calls but I do not have any data access. I have previously used an Android phone so I believe I have correctly set this up in Settings. I suspect the data part of my plan has not been activated. Please advise.
